Ridin' the short bus

I went out yesterday morning to find a laminated 9 x 12 ad for a hair salon stapled to the wall of our house right over the mailboxes. There was a number on the ad and Inki ("good cop" to my often-under-investigation-and-visibly-unstable "bad cop") called to inquire politely as to why they were affixing their ads to people's houses.

The fellow she talked with said he couldn't put it in the mailbox as planned because of the "no ads please" sticker on our mailbox, but he really wanted us to know what great deals they had on haircuts, so he stapled it to the wall instead.

Hi Herr B:
I just want to let you know that I've been reading your blog since you started it (courtesy of Liese telling me about it) and very much enjoy your slice-of-life writing about living in Norway. It gives me the feeling that, yes, people are pretty much the same all over the world.

Best to you, Inki and Ella.

Oh, brilliant! This made me laugh! I'm so glad that Inki was able to let him explain this. I hope you then got on the phone and let him have it!

Thanks for checking in. It's good to hear you're enjoying the blog and keeping up with us in Norway. I definitely appreciate your comment -- when I don't get any comments, I start to wonder if anyone's out there or if I'm just writing to myself....
Hope Weezie and Peter are doing well. Please give them my best.

Cheers,
Robert
