Really? Well, sure. Thanks.
I just got an email from the principal that since I have a class with over 30 students in it, I get a hardship bonus of 1.5% of my salary -- well over a thousand dollars American.
I'm pretty sure I could have taught in the States for a thousand years without the administration volunteering to give me more money because one of my classes is over the mandated size. The thought would never have occurred to me that I should get something for that extra work.
My old bike is about dead, so since I bike the girl a lot, cheap ol' me sprang for a new bike this morning. It was three times what I'd ever paid for a bike before, but I was willing to pay for sturdy and safe, though the price made me twinge a bit. With this bonus, though, I could buy two bikes and take Inki out to dinner. Life ain't at all bad, though the fall here is pretty rainy and gray.

congrats! You deserve a bonus AND you deserve to spend it on yourself (and a new bike!)
