You know the name, you know the number
Well, actually, you may not know my new permanent Norwegian ID number, but I do, and that's what counts. (Unfortunately it isn't 007.) It arrived in the mail today and now I can do some things I wasn't able to before, like open a bank account with Inki's bank. The account I have now with Handelsbanken charges all sorts of fees for just about everything except depositing more money, so I've just been sending my paychecks there rather than taking any money out or doing anything else with it, and I've grown tired of hitting Inki up for pocket money twice a week. On the bright side, the balance in my account has swelled considerably over the past few months since I haven't been touching the money.
Speaking of 007, we saw the new Bond film yesterday when it premiered here, and I was pretty impressed. Daniel Craig is incredibly athletic and has a dangerous edge to him that we haven't seen in the role since early Sean Connery, and a 007 movie without painfully forced double entendres was a real pleasure. Being a Pierce Brosnan fan, Inki thought Craig wasn't handsome enough and that some of the scenes where he is supposed to be looking sexy -- notably one where he gets checked out by a couple of very attractive women in tennis gear -- weren't very convincing. I don't know. I just know that Daniel Craig is the James Bond I would least like to have pissed off at me.

congratulations on getting your truly norwegian ID!! How have you been dear Dr. Brown? You are the best!
Dilys,
Things are good here. We're getting ready for Christmas here and I, at least, am hoping for some snow to set the mood. None yet, though. We're having Inki's whole family over to our new place Christmas Day and are pretty excited about it; we were baking lots of different traditional cookies all weekend to get ready. She's popping over to London with some friends to shop and see a show this weekend, so I'll be here getting my grades done and finishing my stack of Christmas cards.
Hope Stanford has been treating you well. Let me know if you have any questions about my blogging experience for your paper.
Cheers,
Robert
It's good to hear from you. Those cookies sound wonderful, only that I can't visit you instantly in Norway. Stanford 1st quarter went well. I am now done with the blog paper, but I still would love to hear your blogging experience.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
