Updated link
I decided to replace my link to Bergen´s daily paper, which is in Norwegian and no real help for my American readers, with a link to a blog written by one of my former students. I apparently didn´t challenge Jacob enough with German, so he is currently doing year two of a course in Mandarin Chinese at Beijing University while on summer break from Columbia. Dilys might be particularly interested since some parts of his posts -- the ones I skip over -- are in Chinese.

Oh my, I'm late in reading this, aren't I? Thanks for the link. I just caught up on your whole summer through this blog (The announcement email has been staring at me for months). Not nearly as enjoyably as hearing about it all in German and in person, but I'll take what I can get. Expect a long email soon!
you have a student in Beijing? That's very interesting. I should take a good look at his blog.
