Absentee ballot

I still vote absentee in SF, so I applied for a primary ballot online and was still waiting to receive it when I got a letter in the mail today from the Dept of Elections.

The letter stated that they had sent me the wrong ballot in the first envelope and I should use the correct one included in this envelope instead.

Problems:

1. I never received the first envelope and the "wrong" ballot.
2. There was no "correct" ballot included in this second envelope either.

One good thing, though. The letter told me that if I still had the incorrect ballot in my possession, "please destroy [it] by tearing it in half, and then recycle it."

Good to know even the incompetent are environmentally conscious in California.

Ah yes, California's incompetence goes global. How comforting. I hope that the 2010 elections might give us some positive results but given the current state of affairs, yeah, seems unlikely.
