Pleasantville, CA

Tuesday we got up in Santa Barbara, where the weather is always perfect. Never too hot, never cold, and monthly high and low average temperatures that don't change more than a few degrees all year. It's just like in "Pleasantville" when the TV weatherman forecast 72 degrees and clear skies every day. When I explained this to my Norwegian father-in-law over breakfast, his incredulous response was: "So why don't more people live here?"
