We're back
Sorry it's been a while since I posted, but we were in France (and the Netherlands, Monaco, and Italy, briefly) for the last couple of weeks, and then after we got back, Inki's been at work full time while I've been at home doing my share of the parental leave. There's more up about this on the family blog, if you're interested, but right now I'd just like to share a few snapshots of the France trip that amused me.
We were very happy to see that restaurants and other public indoor spaces are all non-smoking in France now, something which made the trip much more pleasant for us. In Monaco, though, people are allowed to smoke anywhere -- the casinos, restaurants, the train station -- bucking the European anti-smoking trend. I don't know, maybe the Prince smokes or something, and since it's his country, it's his rules. We realized this when lunching at a restaurant in Monte Carlo called the Cosmopolitan and smoke started wafting over to us from an adjacent table. But it's not the smoke I remember the Cosmopolitan for, or the food, but the glyphs identifying the male and female bathrooms. Can you guess which is which?

um... I'll say the first on is women and the second, men?(50-50 chance :P -- who's going to take the other option?)
Alexandra,
You're right. I figured the "male" symbol out first, and then "female" sort of follows. Let's just say they're anatomical and leave it at that, shall we?
